Overview

Polyurethane (PU) waterproof coating is a liquid-applied elastomeric coating that cures in place to form a seamless, fully bonded waterproofing membrane with no laps, no joints and no weak points. It is widely used for roofs, basements, bathrooms, swimming pools, tunnels and bridge decks, offering excellent adhesion to concrete and mortar, high elasticity and strong crack-bridging performance.

Two types:

Water-based polyurethane coating — Single-component, low-VOC and nearly odor-free; cures with ambient moisture; ideal for indoor wet areas (bathrooms, kitchens, balconies) and projects with strict environmental, safety and green-building requirements.

Solvent-based polyurethane coating — High-solids, high-performance system with superior mechanical strength, elasticity and weather resistance; the preferred choice for roofs, basements, tunnels and other demanding outdoor and below-grade applications.

Why pre-applied reverse bonding:

• The membrane is laid adhesive-side up before concrete pouring — the fresh concrete flows into and interlocks with the adhesive layer
• The result is an integrated waterproofing system with no gaps, no slippage and no need for a protective screed
• Even if the membrane surface is punctured, water cannot migrate laterally between membrane and concrete

Q: How is the coating applied?
A: The substrate is cleaned and primed, then the coating is applied by brush, roller or spray in two or more coats to the required dry-film thickness. It cures in place to form a seamless membrane.

Q: How long does it take to cure?
A: The coating becomes tack-free within about 12 hours and reaches full cure within 24–48 hours depending on temperature, humidity and film thickness.

Q: What is the coverage rate?
A: Approximately 2.0–2.5 kg/m² is required for a 1.5mm dry film applied in two coats; exact consumption depends on substrate condition and application method.
